What humor did you see in his message? I agree completely with what Marc and others have said.
A new phone system is not a top priority of the house. The house has to many other critical needs to be covering half the cost (buying servers etc;) of a new high-tech phone system.

I'm glad to see that Marc hasn't lost his sense of humor :) We're thinking along the lines of an Adtran channel bank with one of the gui based asterisk distros like trixbox on an embedded system like a soekris net5501 or a mini-itx system if a 5501 can't handle the load. Any suggestions?
